Singer Lisa Marie Presley, only child of Elvis, dies aged 54 - Cause Of Death

According to her relatives, Lisa Marie Presley, an American singer and the only child of Elvis Presley, passed away at the age of 54.

The Presley family released a statement on Thursday expressing their “shock and devastation” at the news.

The American singer-songwriter was “rushed” to the hospital earlier that day, however no other information was immediately made available.

However, a statement said that Priscilla Presley and the Presley family were “shocked and grieved” by Lisa Marie’s terrible passing.

“They beg for privacy at this extremely trying time and are deeply appreciative of the support, love, and prayers of everyone.”

After Presley attended the 80th Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday, where actor Austin Butler won the best actor prize for playing her father, it happened not long after.

She stated she had been “overwhelmed” by the movie and its impact while speaking at a pre-ceremony gathering.

“My father would be very proud, and I’m very proud too… I’m really grateful, she added, feeling overjoyed.

Presley made her final public appearance at the Golden Globe Awards, where it was said that she was “a very welcome presence” on Tuesday.

We are deeply grieved to learn of Lisa Marie Presley’s passing, the statement said.

She was a really gifted singer and songwriter who was well received at the Golden Globes on Tuesday. I wish you a peaceful rest.

She has been receiving “the greatest care” in the hospital, according to her mother, Priscilla Presley, who requested prayers from the public on Thursday.

First to musician Danny Keough, then to singer Michael Jackson, actor Nicolas Cage, and music producer Michael Lockwood, the singer was married four times.

Benjamin Keough, her lone child and a musician, passed away in 2020 at the age of 27. He committed suicide, according to the Los Angeles County coroner.

She is survived by her twin children Harper and Finley Lockwood, age 14, and Riley Keough, a 33-year-old actress.

Presley chose a career in music, following in her father’s footsteps, and has released three albums: To Whom It May Concern in 2003, Now What in 2005, and Storm & Grace in 2012.

Where No One Stands Alone, a new record that was published in 2018 to honor her father’s passion of gospel music, comprised 14 original performances that he had recorded.

The album’s title tune included a duet between Lisa Marie and her father, who passed away in 1977 at the age of 42.

She went to her father’s home, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee, a few days before she passed away, to honor his birthday on January 8.

At the age of nine, when her father passed away, she and her great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley jointly inherited his inheritance together with her grandfather Vernon Presley.

When she turned 25 in 1993, she fully assumed ownership of the estate and established The Elvis Presley Trust to carry on the successful administration of it.

In an essay last year, Presley described “the horrible reality” of her grief when her son Benjamin Keough committed himself in 2020. The post was published by the US journal People.

Since I was nine years old, I have dealt with death, sadness, and loss. I’ve experienced more of it than anyone should have in a lifetime, yet nevertheless I’ve managed to get this far,” she wrote in August.
