Christmas Eve pub shooting: Man charged with Elle Edwards murder

Remanded in custody, Connor Chapman, 22, of Houghton Road, Woodchurch, will show up in court at a later time.

In addition, he faces charges for three counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with the purpose to cause great bodily damage and two counts of attempted murder.

The Lighthouse Pub in Wallasey Village is where 26-year-old beautician Ms. Edwards was shot in the head on December 24.

She would “light up a room,” according to her father Tim Edwards, who spoke five days after her passing.

No one was more beautiful than our Elle May, he continued, referring to both her appearance and her giggle.

“She had this way about her that you simply fell in love with her the moment you met her, and everyone who met Elle understood how wonderful she was.

“She had just gotten going. Without her, Christmas and our family will never be the same. She served as the anchor that kept our large family together.

Merseyside Police said Mr. Chapman has also been charged with handling stolen property, including a Mercedes A Class, and possession of a pistol and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He will appear in court at the Wirral Adult Remand Court.

A 23-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of helping a criminal was released on bond.

Police continue to seek witnesses and ask that anyone with information get in touch with them.
